About The Band
Hard Habit is a 3 piece Rock and Country band featuring Larry Lynn on acoustic guitar and singing lead vocals, John Bartlett on the bass and other instruments, and singing harmonies, and George Loney on drums/percussion. These 3 players are seasoned musicians bringing a diverse set of influences to the band with backgrounds in Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, and Country music. Two are songwriters and contribute music to the band that spans many styles, genres, and ages. Hard Habit plays primarily in Central Texas but has basically an "open range" with respect to locations and venues. The music is about a 3:1 mix of covers and originals (see Music below ), most of which is danceable. A short bio on each musician is provided below:

Larry - Mighty fine "a pickin and a
singing," yes sir! Larry has been a songwriter forever and has
had published material on the charts in Europe. He has been
in a half dozen bands or so including the regional
phenomenon "Larry and the Lost Cowboys." He and Hard Habit
are now making an impact on Cental Texas while wooing diverse audiences
all over. Larry's forte is original Rock and Country but he
can do some mean covers. With his versatile vocal chords he can
cover everything from Willie to Neil (Young that is). First
chance you get, you gotta hear this man sing. Check out our

John - John has been composssing and playing music most of his life. It all started at young age as he learned to play the family piano. He later played woodwinds in school bands from 4th grade through high school. In his Junior and Senior years he played electric bass in the stage (Jazz) band where he connected with other musicians and got into an off campus Latin Rock band. This was the start of a long career playing in bands all around the country performing a variety of music including Rock, Blues, Folk, R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Country. He got serious about song writing in his mid twenties and continues today. John was raised in California but has been in Texas for some 20 years and in the Austin area for about 7 years playing with numerous bands during that time. His present work with Hard Habit has allowed him to experience the fun of a multi-genre band working with extremely versatile compadres. |

George
- George has many musical
influences from rock to country. His drum influence started in the
early 70’s playing the honky tonks on the north side of Houston Texas,
playing such places has Mickey Gilley’s, the Sunshine Club, Dance Town
USA and the infamous Moe’s. George in his early years played with a
cast of musical talent such as Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, Gene Watson,
Charlie Daniels and Ernest Tubb. George’s motto is to work hard, have
confidence in your ability and never forget your dreams. They can come
true. |
